Why see a Registered Dietitian?
In Aotearoa, Dietitian is a legally protected title. To call yourself a New Zealand Registered Dietitian (NZRD) you must complete a Bachelor's degree in nutrition followed by a Master's or Postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics, and you are accountable to the Dietitians Board of New Zealand.
That means evidence-based assessment and treatment that meets clinical standards — not generalised wellness advice. Your dietitian is also part of your wider health team: I work alongside GPs, specialists, physiotherapists and psychologists so your care is joined up.
