Warming Feijoa, Lemon, Apple & Ginger Tonic
Jasper and I went on a fishing trip to Whakatane on the weekend, mainly to fish as Jasper is a super keen fishing enthusiast and had heard lots of great things about fishing from the port Ohope wharf, so we hung out there for a few hours. Not much luck in the fishing department howeverβ¦
We were blown away by what a Feijoa, Citrus ππ and Avocado π₯ Haven Whakatane is!!
We hit the numerous and abundant roadside stalls with honesty boxes and came home with so much bounty (no fish though!) so I decided to make my favourite cosy Autumn drink which is a hot Feijoa, Lemon, Apple and Ginger tonic - its so aromatic and cosy and if you choose an apple such as Pacific Rose you get this lovely pink πΈ drink.
If you are needing to stay cosy for a week in isolation, this would be a beautiful way to keep the sunshine, vitamin C and warming ginger vibes going.
All you need is a juicer and you can be pretty loose with the quantities but this is what I used for about 3 cups of this concentrated juice which you can keep in the fridge for a few days. This will make around 6-7 cups of this drink when you add hot water to the juice concentrate.
Ingredients:
3 Apples (Dark red skinned Pacific Rose are pretty & make pink juice)
4-5 Peeled or Unpeeled Feijoas
2-3 Lemons
Ginger 5cm
Instructions:
Juice everything. Mix. Pour β into a cup and add hot water to get the desired concentration and temperature!
Enjoy!! xx
